NEW YORK CITY
INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVALNew York, New York - USAJune 13 to 20, 2013
In the Spotlight today is the 4th Annual New York City International Film Festival (NYCIFF), welcoming talented filmmakers to one of America's most exciting and beloved cities. In addition to being immersed in the sights, sounds, and flavors of the city that never sleeps, visiting filmmakers will engage in NYCIFF's Film Market, attend thought-provoking seminars, promote their work, and learn how to pitch projects and raise funds with maximum effectiveness.
Unfolding at some of NYC's most popular theaters, including the Angelika Movie Theater, East Village Cinemas, and The Magno, NYCIFF takes full advantage of its host city and even screens a number of its selections in Times Square, free of charge. This marketing opportunity (which is followed by a step-and-repeat session with featured on-screen talent) helped Listen to Your Heart, one of NYCIFF's 2010 success stories, earn expanded distribution and has routinely engaged members of an eager, arts-loving public in the festival experience.
Participating filmmakers in all categories are invited to host Q&A sessions following their respective screenings and are encouraged to connect with audience members from the beginning of the festival until its closing night festivities. Three-minute recorded interviews with each participating filmmaker are posted on the NYCIFF website, designed to ensure that audiences the world over can connect fresh faces and voices with the exciting future of cinema.
